In selecting our processor, we perform our due diligence with utmost care, taking into consideration the facility’s practices in food and safety, animal welfare and environmental sustainability. Reputable and globally recognised, the processor we work with is:
Approved by the US Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) and the European Union (EU) to produce for export of bovine meat and offal.
Licenced to process for niche markets, including Halal, Saudi Halal, and Organic.
Registered with full export licenses to countries in North and South America, Asia Pacific, Middle East plus 28 EU member countries.
We partner with a processing facility which has in place a fully documented Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) quality assurance arrangement.
The HACCP programme is:
Established and approved by the Australian Quarantine & Inspection Service (AQIS)
Used for the identification, evaluation and control of food safety hazards
Underpinned by a set of comprehensive sanitation standard operating procedures, together with good hygienic practices and a structured education programme for food handlers.
Applied extensively throughout the entire processing stages at the facility, from receiving livestock through to shipping and loadout, to uphold the most stringent of food safety requirements.
LIVESTOCK HANDLING AND TRACEABILITY
In choosing a processor, it is important to us that they share the same philosophy as ours, particularly around the handling of the animals, humane husbandry practices and adhering to strict quarantine protocols.
The Australian National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) is integral to the entire end-to-end supply chain.
This means from the farm to final processing, whole-of-life traceability is fully transparent, where each individual animal can be identified and precisely traced from calving on the farm through to the processor and then to the receiving export market.
Australia has a widely-accepted disease-free status and the NLIS system is a pillar of food safety assurance in respect of any potential biosecurity risk.
ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY
Adopts a proactive approach to environmental management and ongoing contribution to the development of sustainable guidelines for the meat industry.
Employs a full time engineer, as well as external environment consultants when necessary, to assess and develop solutions to meet sustainability targets
